In 1998 Al McMurray entered the world of coffee and found himself being consumed by a passion and drive for quality coffee.

Born and bred in Western Australia Allan’s vast knowledge of coffee equipment and experience has put him in good stead to create one of Australia’s premium coffees. From the out set it has been a driving force that Rubra builds it’s foundations on these trade marks Quality, Freshness, Consistency, Flexibility, Creativity and Reliability. This has resulted in Rubra Coffee sourcing only the finest coffee beans from some of the most exotically beautiful coffee Estates in the world Costa Rica, Guatemala, Brazil, New Guinea, Columbia, India and Kenya. Allan’s philosophy is that everyone has differing tastes and expectations and it is his role as a roaster to try to cater to this. Using superbly German engineered Roasting equipment is just one of the steps Allan has taken in his journey in creating Rubra coffee.
